Monroe caught some weird illness where he couldn't breathe or move whenever it struck. When he had an episode at the bar, Chelsea stumbled over to him, and under the influence of alcohol, they had a one-night stand. When Monroe woke up, he found his condition strangely improving, realizing Chelsea could help with his recovery. He didn't see Chelsea's face clearly and only saw her fallen jade pendant. So, he sent his assistant to locate the pendant's owner. Chelsea just got home when she saw her mother standing upstairs, asking her to explain what happened between her and Monroe. While Chelsea was explaining, someone pushed her mother down the stairs, leaving Chelsea to watch in horror as her mother fell into a pool of blood.
